About Pack 177

Our History

Cub Scout Pack 177 was chartered in 1958 by the same organization where we still meet: Mountainside Community Presbyterian Church (CPC). Our pack is open to boys from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Although we are sponsored by CPC, we are completely non-secretarian and families of all backgrounds and faiths participate in our Pack.

Our Program

We believe Cub Scouts should be a family program serving busy parents, so many events are not just open to your registered Scout, but also to other family members too. Our programs are mostly outside where Scouts learn to hike, bike, climb, run, camp, paddle, swim, cook, salute, float, sing, play, race, march, serve, and laugh all year long. Responsible parents are always present and safety is truly our highest priority. Our Scouts learn to live by the Cub Scout Motto: "Do Your Best.”

Our Mission

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make moral and ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

The Foundation of Scouting

Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
